Humantay Lagoon
Humantay Lagoon is a place that impresses with its beauty, patterns, and colors in the landscape, making it one of the most popular tourist destinations in Peru. It is believed that the lagoon holds the sacred waters of Apu Humantay, which irrigate the fields in the area. It is highly respected by the inhabitants of the region due to its location and its vital importance to their livelihood.
HUMANTAY LAGOON
We'll pick you up between 4:30 and 4:45 am from your hotel to begin the tour, heading towards the town of Mollepata in the lush Apurímac River Valley. We'll have a well-deserved breakfast to fuel up, then continue our journey to Soraypampa (3900 m.a.s.l.) where our hike to Humantay Lagoon begins, located at 4200 m (13779 ft). After an ascent of approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, we'll witness the breathtaking view and have some free time for taking photos. We'll then return to our campsite for lunch, enjoying a spectacular panoramic view surrounded by snow-capped mountains, and later we'll be transported to the city of Cusco, arriving at approximately 5:00 pm.
