DAY 1: TRAILS OF MACHU PICCHU

🕓 03:45 – 04:15 | Hotel pickup
We'll begin before dawn with a pick-up from your Cusco hotel between 3:45 and 4:15 am (we also offer pick-up from the Sacred Valley upon request). With the first light of day, you'll enjoy a scenic 1 hour and 45 minute drive to the Ollantaytambo train station, where you'll board the train around 6:10 or 6:40 am, bound for kilometer 104, the official starting point of your trek.

At kilometer 104, the guide will be waiting to welcome you and begin a gradual 4-hour uphill hike, ascending from 2,000 to 2,700 meters through lush vegetation and along ancient stone paths. Your destination is Wiñay Wayna, one of the most impressive archaeological sites along the trail.
Once there, explore and enjoy a picnic lunch provided at the start of the hike (note: cooking is not permitted on this part of the trail due to park regulations). After a well-deserved rest, the trail continues for another 2 hours on level ground to the iconic Inti Punku (Sun Gate).
This viewpoint, accessible only to hikers on the Inca Trail, will give you your first unforgettable view of Machu Picchu from above.
After enjoying the views, you'll walk downhill for about 45 minutes to reach the upper terraces of Machu Picchu, the perfect spot for classic postcard photos with Huayna Picchu in the background. We'll explain the significance of the Guardhouse and the agricultural terraces.
We descend to board the included 30-minute bus ride to the town of Aguas Calientes, where you will be transferred to your hotel. In the evening, around 7:00 PM, you will enjoy a special dinner at a local restaurant, a perfect opportunity to sample Peruvian cuisine and review the next day's plan with your guide.
Please note that train times may vary by up to 30 minutes, depending on availability, but we will inform you in advance of any changes. Weather permitting, you might even witness a breathtaking sunset over Machu Picchu—an unforgettable moment.

DAY 2: EXPLORE MACHU PICCHU

🥐 Breakfast and transfer to Machu Picchu
We'll have an early breakfast at the hotel and then head to the bus station to catch one of the first buses from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu. The scenic 30-minute ride will take us directly to the main entrance.
Upon arrival at Machu Picchu, we will proceed to the lower area of ​​the Inca citadel for a 2.5-hour guided tour. During this time, your expert guide will lead you through the most important and iconic areas of the citadel, sharing the fascinating history and significance of this wonder of the world. After the tour, you will have approximately 30 additional minutes to explore the site on your own. Please note that, according to park regulations, the maximum time allowed inside Machu Picchu is 2.5 hours.
If you have booked an additional ticket for Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain, your guide will help you reach the correct entrance at the designated time. Please note that it is only possible to climb one of these mountains, and Huayna Picchu is the most popular option. Due to limited availability, you should book well in advance.
After the visit, you'll take a 30-minute bus ride back to Aguas Calientes, where you'll have free time to relax, explore the town, or enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Later, you'll head to the train station to board the train back to Ollantaytambo, which typically departs at 2:30 or 2:55 p.m. The train journey takes approximately 1.5 hours.
The entry time to Machu Picchu for the guided tour may vary, as different entry times are available depending on the schedule provided by the Peruvian government. We typically prioritize the earliest entry times to ensure you have ample time to explore Machu Picchu if you wish. If you'd like to take an additional hike to one of the mountains, such as Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain, the Machu Picchu tour circuit may also vary, as different routes are available. We will always prioritize the best available circuit at the time of your booking.
